She's a multi award-winning filmmaker. At film school, Deborah won NATPE International Gold for a commercial campaign that she wrote, directed and produced.

Her sports documentary feature, 50 year old FRESHMAN, has won numerous film festival awards including the POWER of FILM AWARD at the 2013 Beloit International Film Festival.

In 2015, as an ENCORE selection, BIFF recognized her doc as "one of the finest films screened in 10 years of BIFF."

In 2016, Deborah was a member of the NFL Films Wires crew that covered Super Bowl 50 and crewed NFL Films Oakland Raiders games.

In 2017, Deborah's feature comedy screenplay, Liminality, was recognized as a Scriptapalooza Quarter Finalist as a result of being ranked in the top 10% of over 3,400 submissions.

She's a sought after speaker. Recent engagements include opening speaker at Tech Women Canada 2.0 in LA, a Key Panelist at the sold out Carmel International Film Festival Women In Film event and to the Silicon Valley Video Producer's capacity crowd at Levi's Stadium.


She's a member of Canada's Creative Industry Advisory Council, Los Angeles, a CJOH Screenwriting Grant recipient, been profiled on Fox Prime Time Special, Executive Produced and hosted her own cable access show, produced hip-hop music videos for E-40 and Kafani, worked on American Idol, was a witness camera operator for the 2nd UNIT VFX crew on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and a member of the Godzilla VFX crew.

Deborah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (cum laude) from Academy of Art University San Francisco,
a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto (Victoria College)
and is a CPA, CA (Ernst & Young).
